He then departed for Paris, Morroco, India and ultimately Prague where he was crowned King of the May Day parade before being deported. The .44 caliber killer who terrorized New York during the blackout summer of 1977. New York’s own serial killer, when caught he asked the cops “what took you so long?” and promptly confessed to killing six and wounding seven others. While in jail he claimed he was commanded to kill by a neighbor’s dog that was possessed by a demon. He also admitted to lighting over a thousand incidents of arson during that summer when the Bronx burned. He served the IDF as a doctor, and lived in the Kiryat Arba settlement outside Hebron. One year after being recommended to promotion to the rank of Major, on Purim 1994, Goldstein, wearing his army uniform, entered a mosque in the Cave of the Patriarchs and opened fire, killing 29 and wounding 150. He was stopped and subsequently beaten to death with a fire extinguisher. A Polish-born Israeli Professor of chemistry who survived the Warsaw Ghetto and Bergen Belsen, he died suddenly at the age of 68 from diabetes. He was a supporter of a Palestinian state even before the Six Day War. In 1970, he was elected president of the Israeli League for Human and Civil Rights. A centerpiece of his work was the translation of the Hebrew press which he claimed was being distorted in English language editions.
