Allen Ginsberg

A New Jersey Jew and son of a school teacher and a communist party member, Ginsberg was ejected from Columbia university after being caught in bed with star football player Jack Kerouac. Shortly thereafter he had an auditory hallucination of the works of William Blake which set him on a path to become the leading light of 1950’s Beat poetry. His mentor William Carlos Williams introduced him to the San Francisco scene where Ginsberg unveiled his most famous work “Howl,” the subject of an obscenity law suit. He then departed for Paris, Morroco, India and ultimately Prague where he was crowned King of the May Day parade before being deported. He later took to Buddhism and was present at the legendary Be-In which passed the torch from the Beats to the Hippies.
Shande: Basically a Gay, Communist, drug using, inheritor of mental illness, poet, Jew, from New Jersey and that’s the worst. Not only that he also spoke out in favor of the North American Man Boy Love Association, enough said. More than any factors to his shande cred is dignifying a lot of talentless screeds passed of as poetry by his colleagues during the Beat era, most of it will never be read again. Even more than that were those chants on the harmonium that he even dared to record oh and he didn’t pull off that stunt to levitate the Pentagon either.
